Halloween and Fall packets Galore!!!
22 Sep, 2012. 5 Comments. A Day In First Grade, First Grade, Uncategorized. Posted By: Kristen Smith
Here is a sneak peak into what my days have started to look like:
“Miss Smith, how do you spell me?”
“Miss Smith, how do you spell SHE?”

“Miss Smith, how do you spell when?”

“Miss Smith, how do you spell said?”

Okay… you get the point…
We are becoming better writers which is great; however, now it’s the spelling that is starting to really trip us up!
I created a new Halloween themed packet to help us with and it’s ON SALE NOW!! It has ALL of the Pre-Primer- Third Grade Sight Words not to mention some fun Halloween words. There are 8 recording pages and 6 games in this 87 page packet.
With games that encourage reading, writing and spelling sight words, these pesky little words will stop stumping us and let us write with more accuracy!
I am sure your students will love it.
My favorite game is called ‘Spell Your Word’ where students choose their level of sight words and lay out 5 cards in front of them They then take turns passing around a cup filled with pumpkin letters as they race to spell their words. Once they spell a word, they can record it on their recording sheet and give themselves one point. The player with the most points, WINS!!
I will be giving away one of these packets to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this page!!
If you cannot use Halloween themes in your classroom, below is a similar product in a “fall theme!”
Also available is my 121 page Math and Literacy SPOOKTACULAR packet!!

  5. I love your Spell Your Word Game! I think my kids would LOVE it too! Although I do have a student in my class this year who does not celebrate any holidays. Thanks for sharing the Fall Themed Packet. I would love to have it!

I just had a mini lesson this week during Writer’s Workshop on how to look in our writing folder at our sight words chart to spell our “Heart Words” (I introduce sight words as words we know by heart),
