Last Friday we celebrated Thanksgiving with our HUGE first grade Thanksgiving feast. We decorated our “extra” room with all of our Thanksgiving projects and enjoyed some delicious food.
We made place cards for all of our guests by making thumbprint turkeys. If I don’t say so myself, they came out SO cute!! I definitely will do this again next year. (This activity was totally inspired by this blog post: http://www.bedifferentactnormal.com/2011/11/thumbprint-turkey-thanksgiving-crafts.html)
First we dipped our thumbs in brown paint and gave the turkey a head and a body. Then we wiped off the paint and dipped it in red and orange to make the feathers. Then after the paint dried, the kids drew on faces and wrote, “I’m thankful for you!” on them!
Here is how they came out!
