Fill my {beach} bucket!
29 Apr, 2013. 2 Comments. A Day In First Grade, First Grade, First Grade Science, Uncategorized. Posted By: Kristen Smith

I’m sure by now you have heard of the book, Have you Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud.

It is such a fantastic book. My students really loved it and it definitely helped them with how they treat their friends.
Well, the end of the school year is already upon us. As a fun culminating activity, we are going to do a spin on this book and fill BEACH buckets! Using this little unit I whipped together, my students and I are going to each create our very own buckets.
The unit has ideas for anchor charts to get your unit started…
Multiple (4) craft ideas.
It also comes with a few different types of papers for your students to write on.
We will read our letters on the last day of school as a fun way to say goodbye to our friends and to remember our friendships.
It almost makes me tear up writing this! I’m so sad to see this class go. However, summer vacation does sound nice. 😉
I hope that you can use this craft! It is available at my store.
Oh, and something new!
I got a teacher instagram page. I’m super excited to start posting to it! You can follow me at:

You know that at some point today these buckets will make an appearance on instagram-land!

  1. Pinned this! As the year comes a close, my kids are forgetting how to use kind words and fill buckets – I think I will do this to encourage getting along and helping for the last few weeks.

    Thanks!
