Description

The holidays are such a magical time for adults and children alike. This packet was designed to help you teach your students/children about kindness and joy this holiday season. Through the help of some “helpers,” your students will be prompted and challenged to spread joy, love, peace, and kindness each day in December. Sometimes the special friends will bring a treat or a game to play; other times they will have your students do something for others. I hope that you enjoy using this packet.

This packet is FULL of ideas for you to use in your classroom. It comes with a calendar of events for you to use throughout the month of December. Each day the kindness helpers will have a letter for your students with an activity for them to complete. Many of them will provide you with a reading or writing extension.

The packet begins by having your students show kindness to those in their family, then to the people in their school community, and finally to those in their community. It encourages them to look outward instead of inward this “holiday season.”

There is even a video for you to introduce the helpers to your students. You can watch it here: http://video214.com/play/Mj0r1rZOIbWB2kEdZdCcIg/s/dark

I have a few friends who THRIVE on schedules, so everyday we walk through what our day is going to look like, who will be in our room, and any changes to our normal routine. Within 2-3 minutes, this quickly transitions into our must-know words for the week and our phonics mini-lesson.
